brrrrr...

So the heat in my house isn't working. Right now I'm attempting to do something to get me to that stage of sleepiness where cold doesn't matter. I would study, but my brain cannot absorb any more. Seriously. I haven't put down THAT book in the past 10 days and I feel like I still don't know anything. The test is Friday and I probably won't learn any more. Every time I take a practice test I do worse and worse. I think (hope) it's because I am getting nerves-y about it. Grrrr... Well at least I have been glass blowing. Actually, I've gone down to the studios for the past three weekends. Kinda awesome. Maybe if I don't get into grad school I can become a gaffer...

Maybe I'll post some pictures for you guys. Actually, I have one ready on my desktop. It's not of me, instead it's of one of my instructors, but I can pretend I'm some middle-aged guy who is a master of the art of glass and can make anything out of it.

Check out the pattern in the glass, kinda like fishnets. Very cool, and hard to do. And look at the size of that. That is basically the preliminary size, what you get after the 2nd gather and shaping. That means that is solid glass. You can blow that up to about 4 or 5 times the size it is now. That requires a ton of technical ability.

Okay and now it's time to sleep. The plus side about being so cold is that it freezes all the bugs. No mosquitoes to zip around my ears as I try to sleep.

Obama

This is probably the most talked about blog topic of the day, week, month, or year (maybe?). So I will only leave you with one simple thought. YAY!
I heard shrieks of happiness from peoples houses across the pond, I saw people streaking around the pond, and I felt my own yells of happiness as I jumped around like frog from a pond. Yes, it was a good night.
So as election day looms I have really only one thought which occupies my time.
Why all the free stuff?
Why are several businesses bribing people to vote? With food, no less! Maybe they should come to the voting stations and set up venues there. This could possibly be an excellent idea, it would be like a little party. At the school I usually go to vote we have community potlucks etc. Voting could be a community event. I wouldn't really trust all of these people and the food the bring, but if businesses wanted to set up I would probably try to vote twice. This is would create far better turn out then most polling places have had in years.
