Oh my. MY oh my. I can't believe I haven't posted something in a year! That just proves how diligent I am about my school work.... no really. Grad school is hard :( I just finished my first year and have had some time to recover so I thought I would blog about it.
Well okay there is no way I can squeeze all of that into ONE post... Maybe that time will just have to be a blank space. You can make up some crazy scenario... like perhaps I was secretly at trapeze school. Learning the ropes, no pun intended.
But lets begin this relationship anew. Today. This will be my first post of the new year.
Hum...
SO to get back in the swing of things... Lets do a recap. It's noon. I've already done the following: I showered (this is a big deal), ate some delicious Indian, went to the park, went to the farmers market and now I'm going to do some yoga.
Oh well if I have your ear for a second I guess I will tell you about the farmers market... which is in the park. I know I tricked you with that whole park and farmers market. Makes me feel like I've accomplished more than I have...
But back to the highlight of my day- As I loaded my goodies into my car a man walked by me. A mountain man, actually. Not to say he was a hobo. But the man clearly had hiked a trail or two. He was wearing nylon shorts, those strange hiking sandals, a wind breaker and carrying a collapsible chair. No doubt to place upon a summit and gaze for hours at a canyon or... a double rainbow. Need I say more? Back to this story: I was loading my goodies into my car when he walked by me. He held out his hand, palm out in a modified wave and said "GOOD MORNING, MS MARYLAND!" Now he wasn't yelling so much as his voice resonated deeply into all living being around him. The trees felt his greeting and trembled their little leaves hello. Even I felt a beam of sunshine had slipped between the clouds and landed on my face.
This small act of friendliness definitely perked up what had been a dreary day. Now I'm off to secure some canning jars. I'm making rhubarb and strawberry jam (two items I picked up at the fm).
