Thus my random steam of consciousness for the day... Lifetime network.
I watched it for the first time today, I was surfing the channels ( a novel idea for you young folks) and came across a movie about this lady who was involved with the mob. She was cute, bossed people around, and made a boat load of money. Thus, I thought I might enjoy it.
Boy was I wrong, OF COURSE. It turned into a "How I gained control of my life, you can too!" story. Which sucked. Majorly. If anything I felt a little dirty, my once pure movie mind, full of darkness and cynicism from years of indie movie viewing was suddenly brightened with the cheesey lights of Lifetime. I felt like a vampire shackled in the sunlight, no place to hide, flesh burning etc etc...
That reminds me, was Christian Bale in Interview of a Vampire? For some reason I have this vivid image of him playing a vampire in some movie from long ago.
To remedy this state of unclean I found my mother and made her have dinner with me, then watch Hoax with Richard Gere, which I actually liked. I don't know if it was advertised as a small-release indie movie or a box office drama, because I was out of the country for so long, but it immediately closed the shutters on my little world, ensconcing me with "culture."
Sucks. Ahh...three is an even number : )
